Mathew Knowles is setting up production for ‘Survivor: The Destiny’s Child musical’. The musical is set to cover the group’s many members and “the reason for some of the changes”. It is also about him managing the girl group and raising Solange while married to his ex-wife Tina.
“[Solange} wasn’t getting attention because Destiny’s child was, kind of, consuming the family. So[the musical] will take you through the ups and downs of a family, as well as Destiny’s child’s ups and downs. You will be awakened with information that I think will possibly surprise you”, stated Knowles.
The script is not yet finished and is still in the early stages. “We have directly and indirectly spoken to not only Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle or their representatives but also some of the former members of the group. We’ve given them the opportunity to be as much involved as they’d like, or as little involvement as they’d like”, continued Knowles.
The musical will start just in time for Black History Month on February 1, 2020. It will make its way from Houston to Broadway and all major cities around the country.
