Bo Talley- Williams Hosts Sixth Annual Balling for Lupus Celebrity Basketball Game

On Sunday, May 26, Bo Talley-Williams hosted the 6th annual Balling for Lupus Celebrity Basketball Game alongside her son and co-founder Cameron Williams in Atlanta,Ga. This year’s festivities were held at the Riverside Epi Center where several female celebrities and female influencers such as Tamika Scott, of Xscape, and Neffe of ,Franky and Neffe, walked the red carpet and came to raise awareness of the illness.

Bo is the wife of professional WNBA Coach Fred Williams who formerly coached the Atlanta Dream. Her husband’s knowledge of the industry gave them the unique idea of a female celebrity basketball game.

This year’s teams included the purple team and the white team which featured an all female celebrity team. Including head coaches for the white team former WNBA player,Nakia Sanford, and  Melody Holt of OWN TV’s Love and Marriage and head coaches for the purple team Ms. Shyneka of Hot 1079 ATL.

During halftime Mrs.Williams thanked the event’s sponsors and handed out awards to her family and friends who helped her put the event together.
In the end the purple team followed tradition of leading their team to victory and defeating the white team.

After the game, we caught up with Cameron Williams , co-founder, where he exclusively told us that his family is so passionate about informing the community about Lupus and about hosting the event each year became his grandmother and cousin were both affected by the disease. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that damages parts of the body such as the skin, joints, and organs. Each year they donate the proceeds of the game to smaller non profit organizations and to research. We can’t wait to see what next year’s festivities will bring.
