Hyundai Motor America is proud to return as the presenting sponsor of the 15th annual Taste of Soul Los Angeles. Recognized as Los Angeles’ largest street festival, the Taste of Soul Family Festival will now be open for the world wide web to experience through the power of technology and digital unity. The star-studded, 15th annual “Taste of Soul” Family Festival will feature a taste of all things “soulful” including a live DJ, performances from Fred Hammond, Montell Jordan, En Vogue, Anthony Hamilton, Deborah Joy Winans, MAJOR., Tamela Mann, Kool Moe Dee, Doug E. Fresh, and Seven Streeter just to name a few. With special appearances from Mayor Eric Garcetti, Pastor J Edgar Boyd, Dr. Bobby Jones, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Lamont Rucker, Roland Martin, Kym Whitley, Loni Love and more from the virtual Hyundai Soundstage hosted by award-winning multimedia personality and actress Tiffany Haddish .
The Taste of Soul Family Festival takes place online on Saturday, October 17th. Festival tickets are available at TasteofSoul.org. or www.lasentinel.net In 2019, Taste Of Soul Los Angeles attracted over 400,000 attendees, for a free family-friendly event. This year’s festivities aim to scale numbers significantly through likes, shares, and community supporters coming together to support Black businesses, artists, and talent from the comfort of their own homes. Hosted by Bakewell Media in partnership with the City of Los Angeles, LA Sentinel, Radio Free 102.3 KJLH, 94.7 The Wave and Hyundai Motor America, festival proceeds will benefit South L.A. non-profit organizations, Mothers in Action and the Brotherhood Crusade. Taste of Soul Los Angeles will serve as a community event that highlights SoCal’s Black cultural experience fused with diverse cultures and traditions. “Canceling our actual Taste of Soul Festival has certainly been disappointing to us here at Bakewell Media as well as to our vendors, sponsors and hundreds of thousands of supporters who come out each year.
However, because of the overwhelming demand and request we received from the community, we felt we had to find a way to do something. I am appreciative of our partnership with Zafar Brooks and our long-time sponsor and friends at Hyundai Motors America who stepped up to help us pull together our Taste of Soul Virtual Experience. As we slowly lower the curve of the pandemic by following guidelines, we cordially invite your family to a welcomed distraction in the 15th Annual Taste of Soul Goes Virtual,” states Danny J.
