Idris Elba is yet again back in the running to play James Bond as producers spark new rumours for DJ/ actor to take on lead role.
Elba had stepped down from taking over current James Bond star, Daniel Craig, and had instead been discussing the possibility of playing a villain in the next film instead.
However, due to market research tests that producers had secretly put forward, the public seem to have spoken, as it seems to be that people wanted to see Elba as a hero, rather than a bad guy; ranking highly amongst the tests taken by a diverse group of ‘movie buffs.’
Producer, Barbara Broccoli had admitted that Elba had already been taken into consideration for the role, saying how much of a ‘magnificent’ actor he was.
When asked back in 2019, Idris Elba himself spoke about how he would love to play James Bond, and would say yes if given the opportunity.
I guess we will have to wait and see!
