Rapper and two time winning Grammy winner Lil Nas X has been charged with four felonies this month which have accused him of injuring officers that arrived at the scene where he was found naked on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The rapper whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, has pleaded not guilty to the charges after officers said he had charged at them when they approached him early last Thursday after receiving concerned reports of a nude man in the area.
There have also been claims that Hill (Lil Nas X), had punched a police officer in the face twice, the officers at the scene said how it was unclear whether or not he was in mental distress or had overdosed.
Hill was taken to hospital and then accused of battery on an officer, which later went on to follow with the four felonies and charges made against him.
The four felonies include three counts of battery on a police officer, as well as one for resisting arrest, with other details still yet to follow.
The footage of Hill walking down the street in a pair of white boxers and cowboy boots was first released as an exclusive video via TMZ, which they later followed with another video of him nude and barefoot.
Hill was initially held in custody and then released with $75,000 bail, although it has been made clear he has no criminal history and doesn’t present as a future risk for the community; there has also been no evidence to support that there were any drugs involved and although there are tests pending, there hasn’t been anything submitted on record.
His attorney Christine O’Connor has noted how nothing like this has happened before, and put across to the judge how out of character this was, as well as noting his winnings of two Grammys in the past.
After pleading not guilty, a hearing has been scheduled for 15th September with Hill expected to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings a week or to enroll to an outpatient narcotics program as part of his conditions for his release.
Hill’s dad, Robert Stafford has made a statement about how Hill is ”very remorseful for what happened” and how he is intending on getting the help he needs.
