Mel B, also known as Scary Spice, ex – husband has recently contacted Women’s Aid, the domestic abuse charity, [that she is a patron for], to drop her from working with them after claims that he has never abused his former wife.
In a recent Private Talk with Alexis Texas podcast, he spoke about he rang them up and said she ‘’is clearly telling you lies’’ and how he has proof from when they went to court back in 2019.
Mel B has been working with Women’s Aid since 2018, after leaving her apparent abusive relationship, although Belafonte has always denied these allegations.
The ex – couple have been in court previously for a defamation case with their former nanny, Lorraine Gilles, who Mel B called a ‘prostitute’ and claimed that her ex-husband had got Lorraine pregnant. Both Gilles and Belafonte have denied these claims too.
Mel has received an MBE for her services to domestic violence victims, she dedicated her MBE to other victims in abusive relationships.
Commenting on her award, Mel said she felt like for the first time she had done something ‘Not as a Spice Girl, but as Melanie Brown – this working-class, mixed-race kid from Leeds who has always done her own thing, regardless.’
Mel B and her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte split back in 2017 after being together for a decade.
