In his recent United Nations speech, Prince Harry mentioned his wife, Meghan Markle.
He spoke about how he knew he had met his ‘soulmate’ when meeting Markle.
The Royal couple were in New York for Nelson Mandela Day, where the Prince spoke about how passionate he was about Africa and the visits he has taken there, in particular the times he had visited when he was younger, at age 13, and how Africa always helped him feel closer to his not only his wife, but his beloved mother, Princess Diana.
“It’s where I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife.”
The couple have visited Africa many times, even dating back to the early days of their relationship, in 2016.
Harry spoke about one of the first trips [to Africa] he took with his now wife, how they ‘’camped out with each other under the stars’’ as she joined him for 5 days.
Even Markle’s engagement ring has a diamond from Botswana [that special trip], which is the main diamond on her ring, accompanied by 2 smaller diamonds from Princess Diana’s own collection.
Harry also refers to Africa as his second home, over the years he has made both personal and business trips, helping with conservation work, getting to know the people of Africa too.
