TV presenter Philip Schofield has recently been involved in a huge scandal which has forced him to leave This Morning after 21 years of being part of the ITV team.
The rumours – turned – truth involved Schofield’s relationship with a colleague at ITV studios who was much younger than him.
The relationship was on the down low for many years before it was investigated recently, where it dated back to the pair first meeting when the boy in question was just 15 years old, whilst Schofield was in his 40s.
Speaking in a recent interview on BBC, Schofield said that the ‘relationship’ between the both of them started with the pair messaging about his career, and then just a few years later the boy was employed by ITV as a production assistant when he turned 18.
The investigation to how this all started and what actually took place came after the boy confessed to his lawyers about his relationship with Schofield, where other claims have been made that ITV bosses knew about the relationship the whole time.
Previous guests and journalists of This Morning, including Dan Wootton, also made claims that him alongside many others, knew about the affair that happened in 2019.
Wootton has been extremely public with his opinions on the newly outed affair, commenting that the ‘’happy go-lucky and ambitious lad’’ turned into a ‘’clearly troubled’’ young man. Other celebrities that have worked, or met Schofield, that have spoken out include Eamon Holmes, Kim Woodburn, Katie Hopkins and many others.
Another [unknown] presenter, according to Wootton, have said ”We shouldn’t be having to deal with Phillip’s messed-up situation. We love [the lover ] but he’s very troubled now.’’
Many sources have also previously spoken about Schofield’s toxic behaviour, bad attitude and the ‘inappropriate’ relationship, both since this scandal kicked off, and prior to it too.
ITV have released a statement admitting that the investigation initially started back in 2020 when the allegations against Schofield were officially made.
Since the statement was made by ITV, Schofield has left the show and you can also watch Phillip Schofield: The Interview on BBC iPlayer, to watch his version of events.
