Miami influencer Ashlee Jenae, whose real name is Ashly Robinson, was in Zanzibar celebrating her 31st birthday and her recent engagement to fiancé Joe McCann when she unfortunately passed away during her trip, in what her family is saying was under suspicious circumstances.
According to sources, Ashlee had travelled to Tanzania with her fiancé, she shared photos and videos of their time away, in particular a video of McCann proposing during a safari.
The couple spent their time between the luxury Serval Wildlife Resort with rooms costing nearly $950 per night, and a private villa at Zuri Zanzibar.
April 5th Jenae posted her feeding a giraffe with white and red rose petals arranged to spell out ”HBD Ashlee”, in what would become her final post she wrote the caption “Chapter 31 and I’m exactly where I need to be.”
A week later on 12th April, Ashlee’s family released a statement confirming her death.
According to her family, she was taken to hospital after being discovered unconscious where doctors pronounced her dead just hours later.
The family also noted how the authorities in Zanzibar are investigating what happened, however they believe that all of the facts have not been established as of yet.
They have urged the public to only look for confirmation from family as they do believe it to be suspicious, this comes after reports of McCann allegedly telling others that Ashlee died by suicide.
Officials have yet to publicly announce the cause of death however Ashlee’s nearest and dearest have spoken out against claims of her death by suicide. One friend in particular, Savannah Britt, made a post saying how anyone that knew Ashlee would know the would not do that.
